Gordon Wardstrom's Rover Powered Bearhawk

Power comes from a 4.6L Rover V8 fitted to a 2:1 belt drive and Ivo 80 inch 3 blade prop. First flight was on May 24/03. Engine management is via a dual SDS layout and has performed flawlessly during all the ground testing and the initial flight tests. All initial flight tests are being done with the prop fixed at 61" pitch. In level flight at 1000' speeds are: 2600rpm @ 18"vac. = 90 pmh. 3500rpm. @11" vac. = 125 mph. and 4200 rpm @ 6" vac. = 143 mph. Hopefully we'll be able to update this feature as more testing is done.
